On May 27, aespa Karina posted a photo on her SNS wearing a red patterned jacket with the number ‘2’ written on it. Some netizens raised suspicions that Karina was expressing a political stance.

In response, Karina’s side clarified, “Karina simply posted about her daily life on SNS with no other purpose or intention. Recognizing the potential for misunderstanding, she immediately deleted the post.”

However, the controversy has not easily subsided. Some netizens have also left comments on actress Han So-hee’s SNS, linking her posts to political connotations. This stems from a travel photo Han So-hee shared on May 27, in which she made a ‘V’ pose. A casual photo of Han So-hee in white clothing has been unexpectedly interpreted as a political issue and has spread online.

On May 29, rapper Beenzino became the center of intense attention. He posted a daily life photo wearing red clothing with the caption “World Burgundy Day.” Speculative comments followed, suggesting that Beenzino was revealing a political stance, and he deleted the post approximately two hours after uploading it.

Live broadcasts used to connect with fans have also come under scrutiny during the presidential election period. During a YouTube live session, NMIXX members Bae and Sullyoon interacted with fans while making the ‘V’ pose. Bae playfully intervened, saying, “No! Don’t do the ‘V’!” while clutching her head, attempting to diffuse the situation cutely. Sullyoon also drew attention by making hand gestures for all numbers from 1 to 5.

Some idol group members have started opting for clenched fists instead of the ‘V’ pose. TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) posed with clenched fists in a ‘fighting’ gesture for photos, while ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Han-bin posed at an official event with a fist against his cheek instead of using his index finger.
